We are unbelievably excited to announce this Wakeboard Competition, a unique event that strives to celebrate the community of Wakeboarders and DJs that surround us.

Event Format

Wake The Lake will feature Amateur (BOYS/GIRLS) and Pro (Men/Women)

Aiming to shake up the current Wakeboard Competition format, we are proposing a head-to-head structure, where each rider will get one pass of the lake (5-10) tricks.

The overall contest will be judged by Composition, Style and Intensity.

Put simply this refers to how the run is put together (for example not doing 180s between each trick) and this will impact the overall flow of pass. Although composition will carry the highest weighting it is also directly linked to style which you should think less about adding grabs (as this is now known to be pretty much compulsory anyway) and more about adding your unique flavour and riding how you want to whether that's sending everything to the flats or doing bits on the lip of the wake make it your own rather than doing what everyone else does. Finally, intensity, of course, the difficulty of the tricks always comes into play and will of course impact the score of your run.

We have designed the main event in this structure because it retains some judging features from the current UK Wakeboard events but also completely shakes it up. Placing riders head to head will be much more intense as, spectators will see just one pass each from the rider, back to back enabling them to make their judgement more simply, the riders being on the boat together will make it more fun for them as they get to ride with their mates.

The head-to-head event should go at a much faster pace than normal events leaving us with plenty of time to have a bit of fun with some wheels. Wheels full of tricks will be span and each rider will have to attempt the tricks they get given or face a forfeit, any competitor can get involved there will be different wheels to choose from and friends and family can hop on the boat to spectate.

Bass Barn will of course host a stage all day long showcasing many different genres of music, bringing the magic vibes of the barn to the event as well as doing our thing with the live stream.

Malibu Boats will be kicking up a lovely wake for the riders to enjoy.

Tallington Lakes is the greatest site ever! All the facilities include a perfect lake, viewing areas a bar and restaurant pool and camping.
